The Last Roman: Abyss Customer Reviews
:- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Daniel Fort -- Getting worn out : What a great premise which went downhill fast. If this is going to be a serial, than the author could have explored more of the background of the characters. Also, for someone who has lived as long as Marcus and supposed to be a great fighter etc, he sucks at tactics, fight prowess and overall experience. Plus, why do all the other characters with long lives have these great networks and he has one person? Terrible. I won’t go on. I actually skipped to the end of this book hoping for an ending but didn’t get one. So…pass. Going to read Casca instead. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Raven -- Thrilling fantasy - historical fiction! : Wow. This is a fun read, fast paced and as the first installment very cinematic. Can easily see this as a series on a streaming service in the near future. I particularly liked the ancient and modern history bits how they upintertwined. I hate giving away spoilers so will not get into specifics, but the prologue and the story delivered! We also get more insight into Marcus and Thomas, who they are and why. Know I will pre-order part three. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2021 )
- 3.0 out of 5 stars from N. Butts -- the Last Roman: Abyss : The two stories in this series have a interesting premise. I’ve enjoyed them, The stories are well constructed with interspersed bits from different time periods gradually building the background. The characters are interesting, but could be fleshed out more. Sometimes descriptions of a setting and action in it is unclear or contradictory. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2021 )
